Wakefield Airstrip has been informed as closed by the operator unitl futher notice.
Recent upgrades to the runway surface have been completed and the airstrip is open, but pilots are advised of soft sand and the end and edges of the runway that may cause the aircraft to sink. This was recently the case with a BE58 that resulted in a prop strike.
Pliots are advised to keep all operations to the runway and not to taxi off it unless the ground has been inspected and found to be suitable to support the weight of their aircraft.
