I would like to firstly commend the GAS team for a first class professional flight center. The training I received was comprehensive and thorough. There were no corners cut and I believe that it will make me a better and safer pilot as a result. The staff are excellent, polite and professional and it was a pleasure to deal with the whole GAS team. Should anyone be wanting to train or charter I ...

Thank you to the team for helping me get my type conversion onto the Cessna 180. I really appreciated their enthusiasm and commitment to transfer as much of their considerable knowledge and experience onto me as they could, in order that I could safely and correctly operate this "tricky" aircraft. I would have to go a long way to find this kind of professional instruction.

Guthrie Aviation is the oldest commercially operating flight training school in Zimbabwe.  The school was founded in 1995 by Craig Guthrie who, prior to establishing this school, was involved in training schools since 1988.

Although licensed to conduct Air Charter Operations, the schools main focus has always been on pilot training. The school is approved by and registered with the Ministry of Higher Education.

Numerous pilots have been trained at Guthrie Aviation, most of whom have continued their careers in aviation and are today flying for many of the world’s largest airlines.

The school offers full & part time training for the Private Pilots Licence and the Commercial Pilots Licence, as well as Instrument ratings, night ratings & type conversions (multi-engine and single engine, including tail wheel). The part time training option allows many people to fulfil their dream of learning to fly, whilst continuing with their normal day to day life.

The majority of the training is conducted in Cessna 172’s, with the complex type training being conducted in a Cessna 210.  Multi-engine training is conducted in a Piper Twin Commance or Beachcraft Baron.

All of the schools training material has been developed, over the years, by the dedicated school personnel whose combined experience, exceeds twenty five thousand hours of airborne training.

Training presentations are computerised and the school has it’s own in house computerised testing facility.

The instructors not only have experience in pilot training, but also in charter operations, corporate aviation and scheduled heavy aircraft operations.

Based at Charles Prince Airport in Zimbabwe, the local weather patterns promote flying throughout the year.
