What it covers
Eight modules, one standard
Every new member of the Guthrie Aviation and Aesthetechs team completes the same induction, so we all share the same understanding of how we work safely and to a high standard.
Company overview & policies
Our organisation, roles and responsibilities, code of conduct and company policies.
Safety management (SMS)
Our safety policy, identifying hazards, and how to file a safety report through our non-punitive reporting system.
Quality & documentation
The quality system, our manuals and procedures, and good record-keeping.
Human factors
How errors happen, the “Dirty Dozen”, communication and fatigue.
Airside safety & security
Apron and hangar safety, propeller safety, security procedures and the airport gate pass.
Fire & emergency procedures
The emergency response plan, evacuation and using fire extinguishers.
First aid awareness
Basic first aid, and where to find the kits and help when you need them.
Dangerous goods awareness
Recognising dangerous goods and how they must be handled.
How it’s delivered
Online, through My Online Academy
The induction is run on My Online Academy, our learning portal. Allow about two weeks to work through all of the sub-courses.
Why we take it seriously
We hold every pilot we train to one rule: learn it right, the first time. The same goes for everyone who joins our team. Safety reporting, human factors, airside discipline and emergency response only work when every person understands them — and many of these skills serve you well beyond the airfield.
